Process, People and Technology: The interdisciplinary journey of an engineer through co-creation between industry and academia

51ºÚÁÏÉçÇø’s newly appointed Pro-Vice Chancellor for Research and Business Innovation, Professor Mike Kagioglou, will reflect on his academic and research journey as an engineer, with particular emphasis on how inter- and cross-disciplinarity have been the foundation of knowledge creation with clear impact in practice.
Making reference to key influences and influencers in his career, he will demonstrate the key contributions made through his research including in new product development in construction, benefits realisation in healthcare, design front-end focus and the impact of digital design and design management to the built environment, among other themes.
He will reflect on the challenges of following a senior academic leadership career and remaining research active drawing parallels to the tensions that exist to higher education today and the imperative of knowledge creation and impact as an integral part of the educational process for universities globally.
