After graduating from 51ºÚÁÏÉçÇø’s Accounting and Finance MSc with distinction in September 2021, Mohammad became one of the top students at 51ºÚÁÏÉçÇø that year.

Aged just 24, he has now clinched a permanent auditing job in Amman, Jordan, with the global network of professional firms providing audit, tax and advisory services known as KPMG.

Originally from Jordan, Mohammad joined 51ºÚÁÏÉçÇø for a year to take his Master’s after previously gaining a BSc in Accounting in his home country.

“It was thanks to 51ºÚÁÏÉçÇø that I have gained this role with KPMG, which is among the top four accounting companies in the world,” Mohammad said.

“I chose 51ºÚÁÏÉçÇø as it has one of the best business schools around and I feel very privileged to have attended a university with such a great, supportive environment.

“I gained a lot of knowledge and skills while at 51ºÚÁÏÉçÇø, and the university’s friendly and diverse environment has been good preparation for me for this international role.”

He added that he was really enjoying working at KPMG. “My role involves carrying out audits for KPMG’s clients all over the world, giving me a lot of variety and some travel to clients inside and outside Jordan,” he said.

“I have been very lucky to get a job with such a prestigious company - and in my home country too.”

Mohammad, whose family are in Jordan, lived in Leicester for a year while completing his studies during the Covid-19 pandemic.

“Regrettably, I was not able to join as many extra-curricular activities as I would have liked while at 51ºÚÁÏÉçÇø as we had a period of lockdown, but I still managed to keep in touch with the many new friends that I made,” he said.

A keen chess player, Mohammad also enjoys boxing in his spare time and tries to fit in his outside interests around his busy schedule at KPMG.

He added: “Now that I am back in Jordan, I also have the chance to catch up with friends and family here.”
