Dr Emily Baines is a Senior Lecturer teaching PhD, MA and undergraduate students. She specialises in creative industry analysis and strategy, textile and fashion history, sustainability (especially in the fashion and textile industries) and material culture theory.

MA teaching: fashion, product, corporate strategy and systems sustainability in ADHP 5201 Sustainability Strategy and Design; aspects of industry analysis, value structure, marketing strategy, corporate strategy in ADHP 5204 Business and Marketing Strategy; theory on cultural identity, class and social group, gender and the body in the Cultural Contexts series in Research Methodology modules; creative and customer-focused innovation workshops in ADHP 5205 Design Problem Solving; dissertation supervision in DIDM 5004 Major Project - Dissertstion and FSMM 5004 Major Project - Dissertstion.

Undergraduate teaching: Global textile history from c1100BCE to the present, sustainability and semiotics in TXDN 1104; material culture theory, crafts, exhibition design and semiotics in fashion textiles in FTXD 2102. Dissertation supervision to third year Fashion Buying students.
